Production of the Geos Group’s new 4,250-deadweight product tanker is making good progress, and is almost ready for launch. The vessel forms a key part of the long-term agreement that we have entered into with our Netherlands-based supply partner Thun Tankers BV.
The high-performance tanker is being built with a NAABSA design (Not Always Afloat but Safely Aground), so it is able to call at tidal restricted niche ports that other operators cannot access. It will offer increased performance and cargo capacity. It is being built by Scheepswerf Ferus Smit B.V. in the Netherlands, a shipyard with whom the Erik Thun Group has a longstanding relationship.
