Notice About Online Recruitment Fraud

7th August 2014

We have been made aware that organisations/individuals, claiming to be acting on behalf of the Geos Group, have been advertising fictitious job vacancies in order to attract job applicants. These communications are fraudulent and do not originate from the Geos Group, nor are they associated in any way with our recruitment process.

These organisations/individuals may request personal information and/or money, in order to process an application for employment. The scam appears to be email-based and is focused overseas. These unsolicited emails may include the following:

  • Poor use of English, spelling and layout.
  • Non Geos Group email addresses – emails sent by Geos Group will be from an email address.
  • Fictitious telephone numbers.
  • Reference to passport requirements or bank account details.

We can confirm that the Geos Group does not charge any application, processing or training fees in any part of our recruitment process, and assumes no responsibility or liability for any such activities. No job offer is ever made without first conducting a face to face interview with an applicant.

We advise that you do not enter into correspondence with anyone making unsolicited offers of employment on behalf of Geos Group. We take this matter extremely seriously and are passing all information relating to this fraudulent activity to the appropriate legal authorities for action.
